If you have a mountain or BMX bike and you want to put it to good use in Spartanburg a new park is going to be your new hang out spot.
“The Bike Yard” will cost $250,000 in total, but phase one will be $100,000 and will be connected to the Mary Black Rail Trail.
Phase one will include the perimeter trail, dirt jumps and pump tracks.
Right now Partners for Active Living and Coalition for Active Youth are raising money to complete the bike yard.
This area will be for people that want to catch some air on their bike or go for a cruise.
There will be various jumps for all ages and skill levels.
There is not another place like this in Spartanburg.
The closest park like this is in Pickens.
The big fundraiser for this park is The Hub City Brew Fest which takes place October 27, 2018.
25 craft breweries will participate as well as food trucks and live music.
If you would like to make a private donation you can contact Partners for Active Living.
